I am a scientist at the Helmholtz Centre GFZ Potsdam, in Germany. Currently, I lead a working group called “Slip Transients”, which is part of the Section 4.2 Geomechanics and Scientific Drilling.

My favorite research topics include (i) the quantification of deformation mechanisms on faults covering the entire spectrum from fully aseismic to fully dynamic rupture, (ii) the determination of the stress and strain fields in space and time, from shallow to deep, (iii) understanding the role of fluids in driving seismic and aseismic deformation in both tectonic environments and in geo-reservoir applications (e.g. geothermal, CO2 storage).

I seek to lead the group by encouraging collaboration as well as freedom and scientific independence.

To learn the details about the research performed within the group, please read the research topics.
